Popular Trails

Nelson is home to a wide variety or world class mountain bike trails - the majority built and managed by NMTBC and its members, with the kinmd support of landowners/managers Hancock Forest Management, Nelson City Council, Department of Conservation and Tasman District Council.

Many of these trails are within riding distance of central Nelson and rise to between 300-800m making them perfect for evening rides or when you don't have all day to go exploring. There are also linking trails that mean you can combine two or three trails in a single loop, making up a solid 3-5hr ride. What you can be sure of is that every single one of them will leave you with a huge smile on your face and an appetite for more!

Nelson was recently rated by IMBA as a Gold Ride Centre - one of only six in the world.
